Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about running a test, understanding results and getting help.

Are the tests run locally?

Most device-input, display, audio, camera and touch checks process their readings in the current browser tab. IP, DNS, WebRTC, proxy, map and network tools make requests to the providers described in the Privacy Policy.

Why did the keyboard test miss a key?

Keep the page focused and press the key again. Some operating systems and browsers reserve system shortcuts or do not expose certain keys to a web page. Try another browser if the issue persists.

Are the timing results exact?

The page uses browser event timestamps where available. They describe when the browser received an event, not the complete physical path from a switch or sensor to the display. Use the same setup when comparing results and treat small differences cautiously.

Why is the IP location different from my location?

IP geolocation estimates where a network address is used. Mobile networks, VPNs, proxies and provider gateways can place the estimate far from your device. It does not reveal a street address.

Why is upload speed unavailable?

Upload is measured by sending random data to Cloudflare’s speed-test servers. A firewall, VPN, browser extension or a very unstable connection can stop that transfer. To avoid showing a made-up number, the tool reports upload as unavailable when the measurement cannot complete. Try again without the VPN or on another network.

Do I need to install an app or create an account?

No account or installation is required for the browser tools. Your browser may ask for permission when you choose a microphone or camera test.

How do I report a problem?

Use the Contact page and include the tool name, what you expected, what happened, your browser and operating system, and the device model if relevant. The form opens your email application rather than sending data to a web form.
